Abstract

The trumpet is a universal musical instrument. The scope of its use is vast – symphony orchestra, pop groups, jazz, rock, brass band and many other instrumental ensembles that approach different musical styles. Trumpet-like instruments have been known to man since ancient times. They were widely used in the countries of the ancient world, in particular, as a signaling tool. Despite its centuries-old history, however, the trumpet in its current form is a relatively young instrument, being a product of technological progress. Composers from different periods of music history have capitalized on the technical and expressive possibilities of the trumpet, constantly developing the interpretive art of this instrument. The knowledge and further development of its sonorous plasticity, the expressiveness of the trumpet are in the sights of both contemporary composers and instrumentalists. In this article, we propose a systematization and explanation of different technical-expressive means specific to the trumpet, exploited by musicians in rendering the ideational and artistic content of the creations
