Interpretive Perspectives from Oleg Talmazan's Dissertation2026-05-25T12:40:26+00:00Carolina Dodu-Savca

Т. А. Гофмана, Н. В. Гоголя, М. А. O teorie a literaturii.

The article is devoted to the study of the peculiarities of interpretation of F. Chopin’s piano ballads in the context of the performing traditions of the 20th – early 21st centuries, which contributes to the discovery of new facets of F. Chopin’s musical world that are consonant with the present time, provides a look into the depth of the musical text and the construction of its multidimensional contextual relationships. The purpose of this study was to identify the peculiarities of interpretation of the Four Ballads by F. Chopin, distinguished by a high degree of conceptuality, semantic depth, stylistic individualization, national originality, and originality of artistic expression. The phenomenon of the “Chopin style” is comprehended with its characteristic general features of the composer’s musical poetics (elegance, nobility, emotional contrasts) and such specific characteristics as: brillante style, instrumental belcanto, dynamic gradations, a variety of agogic techniques, textural multi-layering, polyphonic dialogues, and the finest pedalization. The methodology of the research is based on a comprehensive approach, thanks to which the piano ballads of F. Chopin are considered in the context of issues of professional training of a music teacher. The appeal to various performing traditions in the process of comparing approaches to reading the Ballads by European, Polish, Russian and Chinese pianists, determines the use of the comparative method, with the help of which common trends and differences in the process of interpreting musical texts of F. Chopin are revealed. The analysis of the performance interpretations of the ballad cycle by outstanding representatives of the world piano school testifies to the individuality of each performer, the originality of the interpretation, the avoidance of unification and standardization of the performing manner, and also allows us to come closer to understanding the multidimensionality of the composer’s idea, as well as to comprehend the characteristic features of the multinational performing “Chopiniana”, in the context of the principles of the piano style of F. Chopin himself.

In this article a comparative analysis of the performing features of the American bass guitarist and double bassist James Jamerson is carried out. Special attention is given to the musician's creative heritage, which includes a huge number of compositions recorded both on double bass and bass guitar. The role of D. Jamerson in the history of jazz recording as a universal musician capable of working with a variety of soloists and vocal ensembles of the late 1950s – early 1970s is emphasized. The innovative style of the bass guitarist is emphasized, due to a remarkable feature – the performance of musical parts only with the index finger of the right hand. This principle provided an even attack of each sound, which was one of the advantages when recording studio tracks. The author analyzes the parts of D. Jemerson's parts in My Guy, played on double bass, and Ain't That Peculiar, played on bass guitar, are analyzed. Attention is drawn to the variation of the double bass line, on repeated harmonic functions (for example, Cm7-F7), which brings rhythmic variety to the accompaniment line and creates additional acoustic volume. At the same time, the practical use of bass guitar, on the contrary, is accompanied by a clearer metrorhythmic basis and the presence of a bass riff. D. Jamerson uses pentatonic sounds, as well as multidirectional movement of the pattern. This creates a certain "rocking" of the melodized bass line, creating an additional groove. At the same time, the study of the double bass and bass guitar part of D. Jemerson in the compositions My Guy and Ain't That Peculiar allows not only to study the peculiarities of the musician's style and original manner of performance, but also to serve as an incentive for new generations of musicians mastering the bass guitar.

The trumpet is a universal musical instrument. The scope of its use is vast – symphony orchestra, pop groups, jazz, rock, brass band and many other instrumental ensembles that approach different musical styles. Trumpet-like instruments have been known to man since ancient times. They were widely used in the countries of the ancient world, in particular, as a signaling tool. Despite its centuries-old history, however, the trumpet in its current form is a relatively young instrument, being a product of technological progress. Composers from different periods of music history have capitalized on the technical and expressive possibilities of the trumpet, constantly developing the interpretive art of this instrument. The knowledge and further development of its sonorous plasticity, the expressiveness of the trumpet are in the sights of both contemporary composers and instrumentalists. In this article, we propose a systematization and explanation of different technical-expressive means specific to the trumpet, exploited by musicians in rendering the ideational and artistic content of the creations

The current paper aims to establish the force lines that marked the emergence and transformation of the American Cultural Studies as an academic discipline and a domain of intellectual enquiry. The transition from the consensus model – crystallized around the adherence to myth and overarching identity structures – to a configuration perceived as the site of dissensus and subversion of the Grand Narratives was effected under the influence of postmodernism in its double role as an aesthetic practice and a cultural phenomenon. America, in its dual acceptation as a geographical and socio-political reality – on the one hand – and as a cultural space and constructed reality – on the other hand – represents the object of epistemic engagement of the American Cultural Studies. Therefore, it had to undergo a similar transformation as concerns the accompanying signifying and hermeneutic practices. The aura of permanence and exceptionalism grounded in a mythical and symbolic vision collapsed, being shattered by the cultural and social effervescence of the “explosive sixties” and dissolved into the fluidity and inclusivity of postmodernism which permeated the intellectual landscape. The American Studies discourse, articulated through a permanent repositioning and semantic renegotiation, reflects the continuous reversal of hierarchies and displacement of the center by the periphery operated by postmodernism.

A comprehensive understanding of the child's world cannot work without a tactile motor perception, as it is at the heart of sensory knowledge. Sensory knowledge is perceived tactilely and is the first impressions about the shape, size of objects and their location in space. For sensitive perception, fine motor skills are taken into account - which is precise and harmonious movements of the fingers. The activity of speech and thinking centers of the brain directly depends on the development of fine motor skills. In the preschool period, it is necessary to create conditions for the child to accumulate as early as possible, develop manual skills, form the mechanisms necessary for future writing. This means that the intelligence and inventiveness of children is directly proportional to the child's greater or lesser interest in manual work. Namely, motor skills and the psyche are the primary elements that play a role in the process of human development. And the combined action between the ratio of psychic functions and motor functions gives rise to the notion of psychomotricity. The psychomotricity process is present in every action performed by humans such as: communication, writing, movement and even emotional expressiveness. Everything we do is accompanied by the notion of psychomotricity. Recent data suggest an increase in the incidence of autism globally. This makes the study of psychomotricity development in these children a priority, because psychomotricity is essential in the development of motor, social and communication skills.

It must be taken into account that communication occurs through language, language being also a tool of thought. Human thinking is formed based on language and is expressed through language. The correction of speech and language disorders, in general, stimulates the psychic development of the individual, his integration in activity and life, leads to the affirmation of the personality on a social and cultural level. Speech therapists are increasingly challenged in offering and performing high-quality speech therapy for the correction of people with language disorders. Thus, an increasing number of speech therapists have become interested in the potential therapeutic applications of computer programs. Any practicing speech therapist recognizes the fact that this technique of sustained repetition of the correct pronunciation of sounds, syllables, words and sentences leads to a decrease in interest and motivation for practice, because it causes a certain monotony, fatigue and regression in correction. That is precisely why, a combination of traditional techniques with the new logo-therapeutic computer technology would stimulate the child's motivation for systematic practice and accelerate therapeutic progress. The computer can be an excellent game partner and a good "educator" and its intervention, depending on the variety of programs used and the involvement of psychopedagogic factors, will be reflected in the shaping of the child's personality. This study aimed to illustrate the effectiveness of using educational software in the therapy of language disorders in children with intellectual disabilities. This objective was achieved, and our results can be used in the implementation of a complex personalized intervention program.

Quality assurance in the teaching-learning-assessment process, carried out in higher education, is a duty for any university in Romania, according to the Higher Education Law. The present article presents some positive didactic experiences, highlighting the specific aspects of the process of assessment the Romanian language communication skills of foreign students. The suggestions offered come from research and own experiences, based on the author's quality as an expert evaluator within Commission no. 2 of Humanities and Theology of the Romanian Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ARACIS), but also based on the didactic experience in teaching Romanian as a foreign language. According to the ARACIS Standards, in order to ensure quality in the evaluation of students learning Romanian as a foreign language, the professor will use the assessments along the term and the final assessment. Evaluation is a continuous, fluid process that unfolds and develops throughout the teaching activity, and not a static, fixed method that a professor can adopt definitively. In assessing the Romanian language knowledge of foreign students, the professor must maintain a balance between competition between students and their cooperation. On the other hand, we need to curb the tendency towards standardized testing, which places an exaggerated emphasis on results. The assessment tools that help us measure the students' progress in acquiring and using the Romanian language are also important. It is mandatory for the professor to establish some operational objectives clearly formulated in observable and measurable actions.

The mission of the discipline ‘History of Fine Arts’ in the education system of the Republic of Moldova is based on the study of the world history of fine arts, as well as multifaceted events and issues related to the history, criticism and theory of art. The lectures of the discipline also aim to focus on artistic trends and valuable works of Ukrainian culture that would have a significant impact on the ethnic, artistic and aesthetic vision of the younger generation. Based on the context of contemporary socio-cultural and geopolitical challenges and our own experience of pedagogical practice, we propose to implement the artistic and cultural theme of Ukrainian art within the course ‘History of Fine Arts’ (national art and world art history). As an argument for the above, we cite a number of historical and cultural facts related to the culture of the Ukrainian people, which fit perfectly into European and universal culture. Ukrainian art is distinctive and rich, it was formed over centuries, reflects the spiritual world of Ukrainians, their mentality, and has a significant moral and aesthetic potential. The best examples of Ukrainian Baroque painting are the church frescoes of the Pechersk Lavra in Kiev. The Ukrainian genius Taras Shevchenko is honoured all over the world, wherever there is a large Ukrainian diaspora, including the Republic of Moldova and Romania (‘Kobzar’ is known everywhere). The ethnic symbol of Ukrainian culture is a gift icon with the face of a Cossack. Boichukism (‘boychukism’) is a cultural phenomenon in the history of Ukrainian art of the 1910s and 1930s, marked by a monumental and synthetic artistic style. It is important to study Ukrainian art from its inception to the present day (architecture, painting, sculpture, graphics, decorative art, etc.) and to consolidate it in the educational process, in the process of obtaining pre-university and higher art education in the republic.

In many textbooks for middle school, used in Romania, contemporary literature (both Romanian and universal) is quite present. The same aspect cannot be found in textbooks for high school, focused on the established literary values and on the writers called "canonical". But the archaic language and the students' in-depth ignorance of some historical realities from the past can affect the understanding of the classic literary text. On the other hand, the official school curriculum, approved by Order of the Minister of Education in 2017, establishes that one of the general skills formed through Romanian language and literature classes in middle school is the expression of the own linguistic and cultural identity in national and international context. From this general competence, the specific competences that favor multiculturalism are derived, for each of the four middle school classes. Within the "Elements of interculturality" content area, the teacher of Romanian language and literature is encouraged to discuss with his/her students about the cultural and linguistic diversity. On the contrary, we do not find - for high school - elements of interculturality. Pupils study exclusively texts from Romanian literature (exceptions are found only in the 9th grade). The thematic suitability of the texts studied and the reference to the interests and preferences of the current generation of high school teenagers are essential, and the elements of interculturality could be the "ingredient", as in the middle school, that would make the lessons more attractive.

This article illustrates an attempt to identify the ethical and aesthetic values in the poetry of Ion Vatamanu. Beauty is the ideal that the poet reflects through his own verses. Each volume of poetry brings a new perspective on how poetry is written in the Bessarabian space. Ion Vatamanu’s intention to write free verse and to use metaphors that shock through their mode of expression becomes a sign of courage. The ideal of harmony represents a standard of moral life and an example of perfect beauty, both of which the author promotes in his poetic creations. The varied literary and artistic images in both content and form enrich the ideational substance of the overall message. Reading Ion Vatamanu’s poems requires the reader to have the ability to think critically. This enables the discovery of new metaliterary and hermeneutic approaches to the poet’s work: freedom of expression, the desire to preserve traditions, nostalgia for the innocence of the rural space, and alienation from the native land due to excessive urbanization. The poem Basmaua depicts the inner struggle of the lyrical self with itself, as it cannot return to its homeland because it is bound by the limits of existence. Even though it resigns itself to fate, it does not give up the ideal of morality and beauty, which it reveals through unique literary and artistic imagery. The artistic sensitivity of his literary works overwhelms through the originality and depth of the literary message.

This text is a contribution to the study of French influences on the programmatic texts of the Orange Alternative political-artist movement and its founder Waldemar Major Fydrych. The text does not aspire to a larger whole, it only complements the previous research with threads on the influence of the Manifesto of Surrealism, Paris and cooperation with a representative of pro-environmental circles. The author, who was once associated with the movement, takes a closer look at the socio-political context of the creation of the Orange Alternative, while showing its unique character by redefining the scope of influence and taking into account the role of the Virtual Museum of the Orange Alternative.

Verbal interaction presupposes and defines at the same time a co-action and an argumentation frame, namely a space in which, once certain actions are initiated/certain conclusions are envisaged, the interlocutors are forced to debate, lose or save face, score points, negotiate in order to find a solution, confirm standpoints or argue. The analysis of our corpus allows us to examine the features that characterize Diderot’s dialogue, which proves to be still very modern with respect to the questioning-answering system, and to conceive it in terms of a broad dialogical argumentation built either according to the principle of stichomythia, or to the principle of maieutics, as a dialogical technique that goes beyond traditional conversation to announce the modern interview. Our research is an outward to inward approach, taking into account two characteristics of conversation – a surface one – the dialogical form, and an internal one – the dialogical function, acting as a discursive cohesion factor.

Intermedia studies and the new concepts they have forged over the last decades certainly have an important role to play in the debates surrounding the concept of degrees of fictionality. This theoretical object sits at the confluence of possible worlds theories (Tomas Pavel, Nelson Goodman), with linguistic notions such as reference, intra-reference, inter-reference and pragmatic literary theory, drawing on concepts such as the reading contract or genre conventions and their role in structuring readers' expectations, etc. The starting point of our research is the question of whether the phenomenon of intermedial migration (developed by Richard Saint-Gelais), which is becoming increasingly frequent in today's artistic landscape, causes significant variations in the degree of fictionality. To answer this question, we will analyze a few examples of cinematographic adaptations of literary works, focusing on the Eric Rohmer’s rendition of the novel Perceval ou le Conte du Graal by Chrétien de Troyes in his film Perceval le Gallois, or on Robert Bresson’s Les Dames du Bois de Boulogne, based on Denis Diderot's novel Jacques le fataliste et son maître. Our analysis will pay particular attention to indexes of fictionality and will attempt to clarify whether the variations of fictionality are due to the different aesthetic specificities and materiality of each medium or rather to authorial intention.

This article is a review of an aspect related to one of the most discussed topics with reference to current students: the use of artificial intelligence tools in the academic writing process. Academic writing competence is a competence that is formed during the years of study by developing the capacities of analysis, synthesis, critical thinking, etc., so that the student ends up producing text going through several stages, which allows him to access a personal work, created under ethical conditions, with responsibility and copyright. The AI era offers possibilities that can shorten the time required to write an academic text, with reservations, however, for the training of the student, the ethics of his scientific approach, etc.

This article examines the challenges and approaches related to academic writing in the context of multilingualism and internationalization, highlighting the role of universities as hybrid cultural and linguistic microcosms. Academic writing remains a central skill in higher education and research, encompassing various types of texts tailored to specific purposes and audiences. Historically, science has been a multilingual field, with distinct scientific languages such as French, German, and English emerging in the 18th and 19th centuries. Today, English dominates many fields, particularly the natural sciences, while the humanities often maintain a broader linguistic diversity. However, concerns about "Anglicization" and its potential to lead to monolingualism and linguistic homogenization are widely debated by researchers. The article presents key methods for preparing students for academic writing, addressing the challenges posed by diverse linguistic backgrounds and international academic norms. These methods include introducing the principles of academic writing—clarity, precision, and adherence to scientific integrity—alongside the development of linguistic and stylistic competencies. Emphasis is placed on structured writing processes, iterative drafting, and the use of tools such as Zotero and Mendeley to support effective research and writing practices. Additionally, cultivating reading and analytical skills, combined with practical exercises such as research proposal writing, enhances students' preparation for independent research. Multilingual support and awareness of intercultural writing traditions are highlighted, as well as mentoring programs that provide personalized guidance. The research concludes that a holistic, multilingual, and practice-oriented approach is essential to prepare students to navigate the complexities of academic writing, linguistic and cultural diversity, and to achieve success in a globalized higher education system.

Gender has been investigated from a variety of perspectives, each offering unique insights into how it functions in language, in society, or at the level of individual identity. According to the definition of gender that is used most widely in literature, grammatical gender is a characteristic of nouns, reflected on elements that agree with them. In nouns, gender is an invariable functional category that may or may not be overtly marked. The determining criterion for gender is agreement, namely, “the behavior of associated words” (Hockett, 1958:231). From the perspective of discourse analysis, gender is understood as something that is constructed, negotiated, and performed in communication. Our aim is to tackle the concept of gender as a mature multifaceted phenomenon which tends to leave its traditional robust linguistic interpretation for a fluid, nuanced sociocultural one. We shall focus upon English, Romanian and Russian, all Indo-European languages, but belonging to different branches within the Indo-European language family, and considering Hockett’s definition, we examine gender agreement in the behaviour of nine such instances of “associated words”.

The subject of this article consists of the interest in addressing the gender of nouns related to professions from a French-Romanian contrastive perspective. Clearly, we will examine whether there are any differences between French and Romanian regarding the identification of gender as a grammatical category. It is worth mentioning that both French and Romanian possess the grammatical category of gender. We will approach the gender of nouns from the perspective of a French-Romanian contrastive analysis. We will particularly focus on profession nouns. By addressing the lexicon related to the feminization of professional nouns in the French language, we observe how it evolves in line with social changes. Thus, the feminization of nouns that designate professions is a set of lingistic processes that reflects the presence of women in pblic life. The most important aspect of the feminization of professional nouns is, without a doubt, the progress made by women who have mobilized for gender equality. Naturally, this equality has also been reflected in language, through the choice of vocabulary and linguistic structures that influence their way of thinking and shape their self-image. In this regard, two key dimensions can be identified: on the one hand, the feminization of terminology-namely, the creation of feminine forms for occupational titles, ranks, positions, and fnctions, and on the other hand, the feminization of textes, referring to the techniques employed to explicity incluude the feminine gender in written discourse (such as internal memos, newspaper articles, official correspondence, etc.).Within framework, the analysis will focs on the feminization on nouns designating professions in the French language, with a comparative perspective on the Romanian language.
